    Merdeka PNB 118 & Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur (PID 32455003): The Merdeka 118 Tower, touted as the world’s second tallest building, is 678.9-metres tall. Construction on this megatower is expected to be completed in September 2023, with 17 storeys dedicated to the Park Hyatt Hotel. Upon completion, the skyscraper will be Malaysia’s tallest structure.

    Penang Transport Master Plan: Bayan Lepas Light Railway Transit (PID 53236003): The proposed Bayan Lepas Light Railway Transit will cover more than 26kms from inner Georgetown to the south of Penang. Including 23 stations and five park and ride facilities, the project is expected to commence construction in 2023. 

    The Penang Bay (PID 92944003): The Penang Bay, only in the Concept stage of its development, is set to be a mixed development that will include residential, waterfront promenades on the George Town waterfront; port facilities in the Penang Straits; and industrial buildings and urban revitalisation at the Butterworth waterfront. This project is owned by the Penang State Assembly – Local Government, Traffic Management and Flood Mitigation. 

    Taman Free School Urban Renewal: Redevelopment (PID 44716003): Renewal of the Taman Free School housing scheme is currently in the Concept stage. The redevelopment will see the demolition of existing buildings, paving the way for over 2,600 apartments, a market, a mosque, shops and more, with construction expected to be completed by Q3 2027. 

  4. Infrastructure Advancement in Malaysia

    As one of the most well-developed countries in Asia, Malaysia is constantly improving its infrastructure, expanding and connecting highways and seaports while encouraging technological advancement as well. Some noteworthy infrastructure projects in Malaysia include Kuala Lumpur Sentral, an urban centre built around the country’s largest transit hub; the Pan Borneo Highway, a major highway connecting Sarawak and Sabah; and the Johor Bahru – Singapore Rapid Transit System, a cross-border rapid transit system connecting Johor Bahru and Woodlands, Singapore.

    East Coast Railway Line (ECRL): Package A & B (PID 54549003): Construction on the East Coast Railway Line, owned by Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd, began back in 2018. The double-track railway line has been designed to improve connectivity between Malaysia’s East Coast and the West Coast states, and it is expected to be completed in late 2026.
